Give Naked Cow Hawaii A fighting Chance!
Donation protected
Naked Cow Dairy Hawaii is attempting to save 50 cows from the Big Island Dairy, that is closing down in 3 weeks.
"WE WANT TO GIVE THESE COWS A SECOND CHANCE!"
Naked Cow Dairy Hawaii has been around for 10 years quietly making artisan cheese and gourmet butter on the West side of Oahu. We have maintained a small heard of cows on our leased property with minimal amounts of milk. We were able to grow by using hawaii's fresh milk from the big island. Now that the dairy is closing we must find a way to use more cows, so that we can continue our tradition of making cheese in Hawaii. By giving Big Island cows a new home, they will have their second chance. They will join our small heard of happy cows, and become our partners making amazing local CHEESES.
Please help us re-home these cows by helping us get their new home ready. We need help growing more grass (fodder), fixing our existing fences, adding more fenced areas, and water boxes to increase grassy areas. (For Naked Cow Dairy to be truly sustainable we must grow more non GMO fodder feed and grasses on our site to be less dependent on mainland imported feed). We will need to add a cooling tank to store larger qualities of milk, and to hire on more local employees to help care for the additional cows. By upping our on farm production to keep up with our local demand we will need increasing our storage facilities. Because Hawaii will be at a loss of fresh island milk from the Big Island Dairy closing, Naked Cow would also like to start offering fresh Milk, which means we will need bottling and packaging equipment.
By helping us home the Big Island cows you are helping Naked Cow Dairy remain a viable dairy farm in Hawaii, as we are one of the last hopes Hawaii has for sustainable local dairy products.
We have 3 weeks to re-home these cows before they get sent to slaughter or shipped to the mainland!
E Kokua! Any Donation will help!
Moo-halo for your continued support!
