Give Nova a Pain-Free Life: Donate for Her Surgery

Hello friends & family! As most of you know, Gio and I are parents to Nova & Stormy. Our pretty lady (is what we call Nova) suffered a fall towards the end of 2023. Unfortunately, she didn't show signs of being injured until we noticied her behavior change. We took her to a specialist in April of 2024 in Bellingham who discovered she had degenerative issues from the way she was bred. (Nova is a rescue from the shelter). Due to her health issues, as well as the fall, Nova has two torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCL) on both her back legs, which is the equivalent of a human ACL tear.

Since this appointment, we have managed to bring Nova down to a healthy weight (65 lbs down to 45 lbs), which has alleviated some of the pain, helping her walk easier. Unfortunately, the only solution to this issue is for her to have TPLO surgery to restore mobility and reduce the pain she feels, as well as slowing down the spread of arthritis that has developed since the tears.

Due to the nature of how complex the situation is, her surgery is costly and will cost up to $12k+, as well as the ferry rides, hotel, gas, and time off from work so we can take her to and from Boundary Bay Vet in Bellingham, and to her PT appointments.

Come March I will be working 3 jobs, my 9-5, a separate gig for my future business & house cleaning to save up as much as I can for the surgery. Gio will have to work 7 days a week so we can have a higher income to afford this surgery.

Lastly, we appreciate all of those that have asked for a wedding registry, truly it is not necessary to gift us anything. However it got us thinking, if you feel inclined to want to gift us anything, we would rather it go to something more meaningful. If it comes from your heart to want to give anything, we would rather it go towards Nova's surgery❤️ Thank you for taking the time to read Nova's story & even if you aren't able to contribute, sending well wishes her way is more then enough ❤️
