Give Olivia the Beautiful Burial She Deserves

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Olivia Rose Heartilly Aranda was born on 11/1/2024. At the time of her birth, she had strong lungs but had a mild case of struggling to breathe. She was placed in the nursery, and at the nursery, Renown (Hospital) figured that she might have apnea and would need oxygen but could stay at the nursery till Renown had a definitive diagnosis. When the nursery team tried to feed her, the nurses found out that she was not holding down the food. So she had a struggle with eating and breathing. Renown placed her in the NICU unit to provide oxygen and feeding.

On 11/14/2024, Olivia was being strong and healthy. She started to eat and breathe without the assistance of the feeding tube or oxygen. Renown placed her back in the nursery (overflow) at that time.

On 11/15/2024, myself and Olivia's mom were notified that she would be going home within two weeks. That was at around 3:30 am.

On 11/17/2024, in the morning around 9 am, Renown thought Olivia might have meningitis and wanted to do a spinal tap to confirm. Olivia's mom did give verbal authorization over the phone. At around 11 pm, myself and Olivia's mom received a call from Olivia's primary doctor to come to the hospital immediately.

We arrived at the hospital at around 11:30 pm. Right when we arrived, Olivia was coding, and CPR had to be administered. The doctor informed us that in the afternoon of the 17th of November, Olivia was showing signs of discomfort. Renown did a culture around 5 pm, and the results didn't come back yet. They also did a CBC, and her white/plate/RBC all came back abnormal, and Renown didn't know what was wrong. Olivia was also not urinating or providing waste, and her bladder was distended. Renown applied a catheter, and she still didn't provide urine. The doctor was concerned and wanted to place a PICC line and C-line to get plasma and possibly even a biopsy. All the while, they did place her on broad-spectrum antibiotics in case it was a bad infection.

Between midnight and 5 am (November 18th), Olivia coded about six times.

The doctor of Renown at 5 am informed us that they did what they could do and felt that she was septic (idiopathic diagnosis) and that they wanted to end her suffering.

Both myself and Olivia's mom agreed, and at about 5:18 am on November 18th, 2024, at the age of 12 days old, our baby passed away.

Renown is currently doing an autopsy in order to hopefully give us a definitive diagnosis of what occurred.

In order to have a burial with a headstone, along with a reception, flowers, casket, etc., the cost is looking to be close to $15,000. I, myself, find it hard to ask for help, but I want to make sure to give my beautiful daughter the burial that she deserves.

Please help with any amount you can.

Thank you,

Olivia's Dad, and Mom
