Give Remona a Chance at Life with Tailored Treatment

Hello, my name is Remona Reitz. I'm married to my best friend and biggest supporter, Tony. It took him a very long time to realize that he couldn't live without me, but here we are. We have four great kids along with the most beautiful inside & out daughter-in-love there is. They all make us so proud. This past Thanksgiving, we were given new titles. We now have the names of Grandpa T and Grandma. Our sweet little Turkey Baby is the apple of our eye, and we already have ideas of how we're going to spoil him rotten.

I got the call in March of 2020 when the world was shutting down, telling me that I had stage 2 breast cancer. I thank God every day that my husband was with me that day and has been fighting this battle with me ever since, being my biggest cheerleader.

I'm currently fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It came back in the fall of 2023. I started working on learning how to live a healthier lifestyle after my diagnosis and was led down paths that aren't part of conventional medicine. Both my parents died from cancer, and I wanted a different outcome. So I've been working hard to find treatments that are more specific to the cancer I have. Cancer is not a one-size-fits-all, and conventional treatments are not what's best for us. If it was, more people would be surviving. Chemo doesn't kill cancer, I've come to find out through my studying. Chemo will kill some of it, but the rest just get put back to sleep, we'll say. That's why they call it remission and not a cure.

I've currently been going to a center in Kansas called The Riordan Clinic, and they're great with mistletoe injections, high-dose (62.5g) vitamin C injections, etc. However, they're not able to provide treatment to kill the cancer. I'm so thankful for the mighty God we serve who's so faithful. He's been placing people in our lives who are sending me down better paths to get the treatment I know God wants for me (for all of us who are fighting). The bad part is that as of right now, medical insurance doesn't pay for treatments that are tailored to the specific cancer you have. So we've been paying for the nonconventional treatments out of pocket. We spent over $45,000 last year and will spend over $200,000 this year for me to make the trip to Arizona. I will be going out at the beginning of Feb for my initial visit and will schedule any follow-up appointment needed to contain the cancer until school's out. Then I'll go out for the full treatment when school's out. We couldn't afford to lose my income on top of everything it's going to cost to get me out there to live 10-12 weeks for treatment. I will have to miss the first month of school, but that's easier.

I have done some of the more conventional treatments that have me so tired most days I struggle to make it through the work week. My hair is falling out, my eyebrows are almost gone, they have to give me a shot so my bone marrow produces, it stops cell production of the good and bad cells, and it's causing lung disease. They tell me that if the cancer doesn't react to that, then they will put me on a stronger medication that will make me sicker, and I would probably have to stop working since I work with children. I want to live and not just be alive for a few more years until the cancer stops reacting to the nasty drugs or the drugs themselves kill me (the drugs kill more people with cancer than cancer does).

Thankfully, there's a center in Scottsdale, Arizona, that tailors treatment specific to the cancer you have. They send your blood off to Europe to get the exact DNA of the cancer in your body. Then they find what works best for you. They have a compounding pharmacy on site to mix exactly what you need if conventional drugs are needed, and they also find what works on the holistic side of medicine like mistletoe, vitamin C, supplements, diet, and oils. What Envita provides should be standard of care for everyone. I'm so glad people are fighting to help people see the bad stuff being put in our food every day that's making us all sick. Dr. Casey Means and her brother are helping pave the way for our children and grandchildren not to go through the sickness all of us are facing daily.

I never thought I would be someone on a GoFundMe page asking for help. I know life is hard for many people, and I have a guilt that comes over me when thinking about asking anyone to help me because the Lord has blessed our lives so much. I was reminded though that: one, I'm preventing the Lord from blessing us through others and allowing them to be blessed for being faithful. Two, I'm not asking for people to fund a vacation or something I shouldn't be. I'm asking for help so that I can have a chance to live.

If you've read this far, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you have the means to give, we say thank you. If you can give us time in prayer, I'll take that more than anything because we have a mighty Father who's in the healing business. If your way of giving is something else, please feel free to do it. I have friends providing me with Young Living oils, and I'm happily taking them because they add up in cost as well.

God bless you all, and God bless this great nation God created.
