Give Ruthan Plant a Hand in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
I have been speaking to Ruthan Plant recently. Many of you know she has terminal cancer. She is currently receiving immunotherapy at River Bend. Her spirits are high, her energy isn't.
I am one of many that had the privilege of working with both Mike and Ruthan. Those of you that have worked with them know they are probably the most caring people on the planet. As an example, I will tell a story about a drug case that Mike worked just before Christmas. He served a successful search warrant; most would think that was the end of the case. The Plants realized that this family with several kids would have no Christmas. They couldn't allow this to happen. They made sure that the kids all had gifts and the family had a Christmas dinner. This kind of compassion is the norm for the Plants.
I also know that the Plants have taken in a number of people in their time of need.
I asked Ruthan if there was anything we could do for her. She told me that she had no energy and was too weak to clean her home.
I know she will resist this, but I am starting this fund to pay someone to help out in this time of need. Travis Terry and I met with the Plants this afternoon. We were told that their costs for treatment are building up. One co-pay alone was $3,000. They told us the next immunotherapy drug cost alone is $59,000. I have spoken to a number of people that are willing to give the Plants a hand up like they have done for so many.
