Give Simone Joseph the Burial She Deserves

This GoFundMe page is being created by me, Raymonde Pierre, in memory of my mother Simone Joseph, who unexpectedly passed away on October 5, 2024. I arrived in Michigan from Haiti 32 years ago, essentially growing up here by myself with no relatives and then starting my own family and raising two children on my own as well. My mother and other family members were still in Haiti, so I hadn't been able to see them in 32 years. As a single mother, I had limited finances, so it was difficult for me to fulfill my deep desire to bring her here. In August 2023, I was able to bring my mother and brother here with the help of Biden's Humanitarian Parole program. Given her advanced age and the widespread violence and corruption in Haiti, I didn't want her to return there, so I fought extremely hard and paid a lot of money to get her permanent residency in the US. She was not allowed to remain in the US permanently, so I had to apply for immigration asylum, and she didn't live long after the process really started to pick up. Any donations would be very appreciated since I don't have much money to give my mom the burial she deserves because I had to use all my little savings that I was putting away to buy a better reliable car in order to give my mom the opportunity to become a permanent resident in the US, so anything will help.
