Give strength and comfort to the Pietz family

Welcome friends and family of Matthew Pietz. Thank you for coming to check out Matthew’s page for healing. We are now ready to share with you the devastating repercussions of the accident that occurred on 2/10/2020. We have appreciated your gentle concern for Matthew’s wellbeing and respect for the Pietz family’s privacy.
Matthew and his friend, Tommy, were involved in a single car crash in the snowy foothills of South Dakota. It is with a very heavy heart that we share with you that Tommy didn’t make it. The community acknowledges his absence and pray for peace for Tommy’s family. Matthew in particular is grieving heavily for the loss of his friend. This is a very sensitive time for all involved.
Matthew accounted the graphic happenings from that fatal incident. Matthew knew that he needed to seek help for him and his friend. Matthew was forced to carry his entrails to a residence about a quarter mile away.
As a result from the accident, Matthew sustained life threatening injuries. Matthew had to have an immediate abdominal surgery to place his organs back inside of his body. Matthew is still currently recovering from three broken rips and a punctured lung, on the right side of his body. Matthew sustained a dislocated shoulder and deep leg bruising from the impact. Matthew has many stitches on his forearm from a laceration. Matthew’s abdominal laceration extends laterally the length of his stomach, on two sides, from his belly to his sternum and from his belly to the first set of ribs. The laceration also extends horizontally from his belly to his appendix area. In its entirety, Matthews abdominal injuries form a large "H" pattern. A few words come to mind starting with the letter H. Human, Humble, and above all else HIM. I believe God has granted Matthew a second chance on life.
Matthew received life saving treatment and pain management for his extensive injuries at Monument Healths Intensive care unit.
Matthew was discharged and is now recovering back at home with his family. Matthew has a long road ahead of him until he is fully rehabilitated. Matthew is unable to return to his place of work for the unforeseeable future. This comes at great loss for the Pietz family. As you all know, Matthew has always taken great pride in providing for his family. The burden of the financial strain is palpable.
I’ve taken it upon myself to reach out to our loved ones to help ease that stress on Matthew and his family. This is a very personal SOS. I am asking you for monetary donations for Matthew and his family. Even a small amount is not too small. Everything adds up, just like all of the prayers we’ve received. All continued prayers are welcome. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, I ask you to please “like”, share and comment your well wishes on the posts you see. If you are simply unable to donate at this time, I urge you to keep checking in on us for updates. We need our village to keep us strong. With much Love and gratitude, thank you for sharing. This is a loving reminder to count your many blessings.
