Give Sydney Hope

sydney, the most adventurous and vibrant spirit in our lives has been facing a relentless battle with colon cancer since 2020. she is the one we turn to for impromptu adventures, trips and for a laugh. a skydiver, a snowboarder, and someone who's had an 8-pack since we were just 9 years old. she is who i go to for any medical advice because she is a physician assistant. this girl can write damn prescriptions which is why it’s ironic that I'm writing this, but here we are.

today, october 12th i visited sydney in the hospital, bringing her sour patch kids and hoping to share some lols and watch trash TV. however, this time, the energy was different. i sat with her mom, holding her hand as they discussed the possibility of hospice care for sydney and her family.

sydney, although currently 83 pounds, is the strongest person i know. she met a woman during her last stay at hope 4 cancer in mexico, who was also given weeks or months to live, and she's five years down that road today. when sydney was at hope 4 cancer, it was the most hopeful i’ve seen her since this brutal diagnosis.

hope 4 cancer is an alternative treatment center for cancer, but it's not covered by insurance. i’m writing to you today out of a sense of quiet desperation. i’m hoping to raise money to send sydney back to hope 4 cancer as soon as possible. any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
