Give these sweet boys a new start at life
Donation protected
These two beautiful boys were found abandoned at Burlingame High School about a week ago. They are very under socialized and very underfed but they're the sweetest boys that have so much potential. They have a tremendous fear of humans but don't appear to be dog aggressive. The local shelter has been extremely helpful but given their special needs and specifically their fear of humans, they are unable to keep them nor adopt them out. We were able to get them neutered and get medical care (including all of their vaccines), and now we have undertaken the responsibility of finding them homes that will help them explore their true potential and help them heal. Any financial help provided will go directly to their food, their training and socialization, their vet bills, etc. Any left over funds will be donated directly to a local dog rescue group (which one to be determined at a later time).
We will keep you posted on their progress as they settle in.
Thanks so much!
UPDATE 11/13/2023
Tonight, Ebony and Ivory were brought to their temporary foster home in San Mateo for the week from the humane society. It is estimated that they are lab pitbull mixes born in the same litter and are between 8 and 12 months in age. They each weigh about 45lbs (expected weight would be between 55-60lbs). Ebony is slightly larger than Ivory.
Overall Ivory appears to be very friendly, food motivated, and sweet but still fearful. He showed off some great training behavior and sat on command and took kibble with a soft and gentle mouth.
We're going to try really hard to observe them and give them space (and provide an environment they can feel safe and secure in) for the next several days and hope they make a quick turnaround and improve.
