Give Watford people a Green choice in the Election
Donation protected
The Green Party in Watford is raising funds to let people send a message and vote Green in the General Election.
Arran Bowen-la Grange is the Green Party candidate for Watford in the upcoming General Election. Born and raised in WD18, he's hoping to become the constituency's first-ever homegrown MP and help secure a fairer, greener future for the people of Watford - but he needs your help to do it.
We need to raise £1750 for our deposit, leaflets and further campaigning.
Anything you can give will help! Here's how we'll spend it:
> £500 covers Arran's election deposit
> £850 pays for a good quality leaflet made from sustainable materials to be delivered to every household in the Watford constituency
We're hugely grateful to anyone who can help out, especially in these trying times.
You can follow Arran's campaign across social media:
What happens to the money
Candidates in a UK Parliamentary Election must pay a deposit – currently £500. If they receive at least 5% of the votes their deposit is returned.
The money we raise from this fundraising will go to the bank account of Three Rivers Green Party, for campaigning in Watford, not to any individual candidate.
So wherever you are in our area please give what you can. So everyone has the chance to vote Green: to vote for what they believe in. The Green Party of England and Wales will stand candidates in every constituency,
Your Donation Dividend
Every donation has a double impact, and it could even have a triple impact:
1. Your donation gets a Green candidate for Parliament able to challenge the old parties.
2. When Arran stands, all the votes he receives translate into government funding for the Green Party (Short money)
3. If Arran retains his deposit, those funds come back and can be spent by the Green Party again, so we can keep building strength both locally and nationally.
Donation rules
If you pledge £500 or over, you must be on the electoral register - this is a requirement of donating to a political party. You must also be willing to provide us with your contact details and address. This is required by the Electoral Commission.
By making a donation you confirm that you are eligible to make political donations in the UK, and that this donation is not made for or on behalf of any other person.
All donations received are subject to the regulations of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
