Gabriel’s Build A Miracle

My name is Gabriel Benitez. I am 18 years old, and for nearly eight years, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with Build A Miracle (BAM), a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of families in need by providing them with safe, secure, and fully furnished homes in Tijuana, Mexico.

BAM is more than just a non-profit—it’s a movement of hope. For just $20,000, BAM is able to build and furnish an entire home, offering families not just shelter, but dignity, security, and the foundation for a brighter future. Each home comes complete with electricity, running water, furniture, and most importantly, the love and support of a community that cares.

Since 2017, my sister and I have been fundraising passionately for BAM. Together, we’ve raised over $400,000, allowing us to build more than 20 homes for deserving families. But the numbers only tell part of the story.

I’ve seen firsthand the profound impact these homes have on families—mothers who no longer worry about leaks during rainy seasons, children who finally have a safe place to do their homework, and parents who can sleep peacefully knowing their family is protected. The smiles, tears, and heartfelt gratitude from these families have changed my life in ways I can’t fully put into words.

This isn’t just a project for me—it’s a lifelong mission. I’ve made a personal commitment to build at least one home every year because I’ve seen how even a small act of kindness can ripple through generations.
