Help Marlene Goodrich Kelly

Donation protected
My name is Eric Dobrinski. My brother Alex and I are trying to raise money for our mother Marlene Goodrich Kelly's medical needs.

As some of you know, and for those of you who don't, our mother has been fighting many different illnesses over the last 25 years. She was diagnosed with Lupus 25 years ago. She always stayed very positive about her illness. She worked fulltime and took care of her family. She also volunteered her time at a local soup kitchen. She was a volunteer for the the Deep River Ambulance before my brother and I were born. Over the years my mother's health has declined and no longer can work. Not only did her Lupus advanced, she developed Thyroid disease, diabetes, and other medical problems. Now our mother has a severe back injury in her lower back. Two vertebras in her back have shifted in different directions causing the spinal cord to be strangled. Also, two discs have herniated, one disc is pressing against her left sciatic nerve and the other one against her right. She has nerve damage in both of her legs. Compounding all of this is the fact that the doctors are unable to perform surgery on her due to all of her medical conditions. Due to this, my mother has to walk with a cane. She cannot stand for more than 5 minutes at a time or walk more than a hundred feet without being in severe pain. She cannot go shopping, take a walk, go to a farmer's market, fair, or anything else that requires her to stand. It's like she's a prisoner in her own home!

Our stepfather Glen Kelly has been acting as her caretaker for a very long time now. He sacrifices so much to make sure that even her most basic needs are taken care of. Without his help she would not be able to live on her own.

This is why my brother and I are trying to raise money for an electric scooter, a chair that will lift her from a sitting to a standing position and other medical equipment like a railing for the shower and other items to make her home accessible. We are also looking to get her a rollator walker for use in the house and to be able to go to restaurants and other indoor locations. The scooter we are looking to purchase for her folds up to be able to fit into the trunk of a car, so anyone can help her lift it.

Anything that is donated will be directly affecting and improving our mother's quality of life. Somebody who gave so much during their lifetime should not have their existence reduced to this. She deserves to be able to go out and live again! With your generosity we can make this happen.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this. All of your donations and shares of this page are greatly appreciated!
