#GivetheUsual - Salon/Barber COVID-19 Relief Fund
Donation protected
Link to application for barbers and beauty professionals to receive funds. Application deadline due May 10, 2020.
Historically, beauty salons and barbershops have been a staple for communities of color as a safe space to connect with neighbors, practice personal self-care, and preserve our culture.
Generations have come to these safe spaces and requested “the usual” to look their best for both small and important life events. During these difficult and uncertain times, we must come together to uplift and support our small businesses and individuals that have invested in our communities by providing jobs, friendship, a safe space, and the self-confidence to go out into the world.
To ensure that the vulnerable businesses that we all rely on are still here when this crisis period is over, we have created a fund requesting a one-time generous gift equivalent to your “usual” service fee and/or tip. Of course, any contribution is greatly appreciated. If you are a donor and/or would like to support this initiative, tag your local barber or beautician on your social media channels and then share details to apply to the fund for support. For those who provide a contribution, let’s pay it forward and #givetheusual to make sure our self-care businesses stay open for future generations.
