Giving a Boost to Lady Kaen

Bravery comes in many forms. Asking for help is one of them.

Many of you know Kaen as an irrepressible spirit who lights up a party when she walks through the door, as the culture vulture who creates a spreadsheet to take in as many offerings at whichever festival she’s working that season, or for her delight in board games and evenings hanging with good friends. But, it’s been a tough couple of years, and her Kaen vibes have taken a massive hit.

CHILDHOOD ISN’T ALWAYS SO SWEET

Childhood trauma hits hard when you’ve been suppressing it most of your adult life. With pandemic times and other unavoidable stresses, cPTSD reared its ugly head for Kaen. She’s in therapy and working hard at digging into the trauma, but it’s been a slog, a real struggle to keep moving forward while working on the broken pieces of her soul that need to heal.

MENTAL HEALTH TAKES A TOLL

There are a lot of costs associated with pursuing mental health treatments, and the reality is that with the pandemic and reduced income and now social income, these costs have become onerous and repressive. There have been tears and distress and lost sleep and desperate moments. Close friends have done what they can, but removing the burden of financial constraints will give Kaen the leg up she needs to continue her healing journey.

Here’s the ask, which she so bravely put forward:
