Denise Flowers was diagnosed with leukemia cancer, four (4) years ago. After many months of chemotherapy treatment, she received miraculous news - she was in remission.
She was still not feeling well and unable to regain her health but blamed it on the continuing treatments of chemotherapy.
Then in March 2023 she was diagnosed with peripheral artery disease, PAD, a rare disease affecting the veins and arteries. She underwent three (3) surgeries in ten 10 months.
NONE were successful.
All options had been exhausted.
Her options were -
Live in pain or
Double amputation
She thought she could handle the pain
because how can anyone handle the
thought of losing their legs.
She suffered through her days and nights in terrible pain; seldom finding any relief.
Then the unthinkable happened. Her toes and feet begin to turn purple as the blood flows stopped reaching them and the decision was made for her – double amputation or die.
Denise was immediately admitted to the hospital and underwent a double amputation surgery which was performed the next day.
Denise shows us daily that she is a “pro” at surviving life. She continues to be an inspiration as she faces the unimaginable challenges that lie ahead.
Please help Denise in any way you can. Even the smallest act of kindness makes a difference because it expresses that you care. So pray, call, visit, and help lessen the heavy weight of this difficult journey yet attainable future. Her goal is to learn to walk again.
We can’t begin to comprehend all that will be needed but we know through God all things are possible.
