Giving for David

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

This page is dedicated to help raise funds to provide support to David and his family as he goes through treatment for very severe aplastic anemia.

He was diagnosed with this disease in August 2013, and after not showing improvement with immunosuppressive therapy (ATG chemo + cyclosporine), he will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant.

By the grace of God, a young man, whom we don't yet know, will be donating his bone marrow to David in December 2013. We praise the Lord for this, because after we received the devastating news that none of David's other four siblings was a match, the Lord graciously provided an unrelated donor match through the national registry. We're hoping to meet David's bone marrow donor when we are allowed to approximately 365 days after donation.

David is scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago on December 11, 2013. We appreciate your prayers for an uneventful recovery and thank you for any donations. *Asking for help in this way is WAY OUT of my comfort zone, and we're asking that if you can't donate at this time to please just pray. THANK YOU!

David has been getting blood and platelet transfusions on a regular basis since his diagnosis and has undergone six hospital admissions since the beginning of August 2013.

Besides regular trips to the infusion center, the ER, and to see his doctor, David sees a home health nurse twice a week. He's been on a plethora of medications that have caused a plethora of side effects, and he currently has a PICC line in his arm to eliminate the constant pokes he was having to go through. Next week, however, he'll be having a CVC line inserted in his chest. :(

We can't wait until all of this is over for David and pray that life will look much brighter for him a year from now.
