Giving my mother her dream

Donation protected
Hi all!

I’ll start this with the why: In 2016, my mother Renee was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, we all took this news very tough, but my mom wasn’t about to give up. She fought her way through the various treatments, and came out into remission only months after. That brought us into 2017, where we all left it in the past, and we kept on moving forward. As soon as 2018 hit, we knew it wasn’t our year. It started with my grandmother passing, then an unexpected death from a close family member, and then we found out the cancer had come back and they found a spot on her rib. After all this, they come back to us to let my mom know she had progressed to stage 4, and they were going to aggressively attack it with radiation, in hopes of getting it gone. A few months past, and then my mother was hospitalized on New Year’s eve due to lack of breath and overall weakness. We took precaution since her immune system has been so weak, and hoped it was just a usual cold trying to attack her body, but we got the worst news. The cancer had progressed close to past the point of no return, and after a lot of deliberation and talking and crying, we decided to give my mother the best QUALITY of life, and we chose in-home hospice care. With this, they gave a timeline of 4-6 months, depending, and they’d just be managing pain, just to make sure the quality is there. I currently live in Seattle but am moving back ASAP to spend what we have left together, so money will be tight on my end.

Here’s some background onto why I’m here asking for help. My mother and father got married while on the road trucking, in a random little white chapel, with strangers as witnesses, in matching tie dye shirts and cut off jean shorts. Last week, my mom was talking to me about how nice it was, but she added that she didn’t have something that was close to home. She said the top of her bucket list is to renew vows with my father, to show him how much she loves him after all they’ve and we’ve been through. Growing up, we definitely weren’t the most well-off, but my parents still found a way to make me comfortable and feel loved, and I want nothing more than to return that feeling to them with her dream wedding. What I’m asking for would cover the cost of venue, a makeshift-dream wedding dress, and all the arrangements. And if there were to be anything left, it’d go towards the mound of bills we have trailing us. With moving back so unexpectedly, I’ve been saving my pennies but it’s not going to meet the bill, and I’ve never been one to ask for help, but this is the one thing I can’t not at least try for. A share and some positive vibes/prayers are even the biggest help, so please spread this. Thank you all so much, let’s get this done.
