Giving our physical environment a new lease of life!

Hi, thanks for visiting the Great Tey Primary School gofundme page.

As I hope you'll agree, despite being small in size our impact is big! At the moment, we have 83 children on roll, and are growing year on year. The vast majority of our grant from the government are directed into staffing and materials like books, technology and stationery. We receive a very modest sum from the County Council yearly to invest in the fabric of our buildings, and are actively seeking grants to help us in this respect.

The majority of the school building dates from 1975, and is starting to show (and feel!) its age. We have big plans to improve the school estate, but sadly are lacking in funds to achieve this.

Despite there being plans in the offing to rebuild the school in the near future, we have some pressing issues we’d like to attend to… we would like to construct a wall between the Ducklings and Sparrows classrooms (both are larger classes now and they can raise quite a din!), fundraise towards new classroom furniture across the school and creating an SEN/sensory room on site.

We appreciate that household costs just seem to be going up and up, and there are ever competing pressures on family budgets. Any amount you can donate would be gratefully received, and have a direct impact on improving the learning environment of our wonderful young children.
