Giving the hope...

Hi guys,

My name is Helen and it’s me on the cover photo on the bike having conquered the hill with the beautiful name Willunga, just before my accident that happened half an hour later. I fell off the bike during a steep descent at high speed and broke my right hip bone, ended up in hospital, and underwent surgery just a couple of hours later. After six months of extensive rehab, I fully recovered and returned to cycling. I had quite severe sports injury and it was the sport which helped me to recover pretty quickly. This nasty incident stopped me from fundraising a year ago, but not this year. I’d like to make one more effort to challenge myself to complete 145 km by taking the part in Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride to raise money with your help and support.

I was born in Ukraine, and since 24 Feb 2022, the lives of millions of Ukrainians have dramatically changed and will never be the same. My heart is bleeding when I am watching the pictures of violence, destruction and suffering my home country is going through. But I believe that with your support, however small it is, we can make a difference - purchase and deliver medication and food to those who fled from the horrors of war, transfer the money for lifesaving surgeries, and just simply give the people hope and help they need so badly.

All the funds I will raise with your help will be transferred to Ukrainian volunteers, who sacrificed everything to help and take care of their compatriots in need, often putting their own lives at risk. The war is far from over, the Ukrainians are suffering greatly and they need your support.
