Giving this Holiday Season for the Kramer Family
Donation protected
Our friend, teammate, and co-worker for many years experienced a hardship this summer when his son, Dalton, became very ill. The Kramer family could not return home while visiting family, and Dalton required immediate hospitalization. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise donations to help ease the burden on the Kramer family this coming holiday season. With your support and contributions, this fundraiser will benefit the Kramer family by providing holiday gifts for their sons, food, and help with unforeseen medical expenses. Below, you will find the Kramer family's story and the difficulties they have experienced.
On July 6, 2022 Dalton Kramer, aged 8, was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia after falling ill while visiting family in Cleveland for the July 4th holiday.
T-cell Leukemia is a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer that requires an aggressive chemotherapy regimen in order to induce and maintain remission.
Due to the intense nature of T-cell treatment, Dalton’s family decided it was in his best interest to move to Cleveland to have family support with his two brothers (aged 6 and 3) and to maintain his hospital care team in Cleveland, who has been with him every step of the way. Neither Dalton, his mother, nor his two brothers have been home to Maryland since they left for vacation on July 1.
After a grueling first 30 days at a children’s hospital in Cleveland, Dalton’s first phase of treatment was a success, and he went into remission. Unfortunately, without continued aggressive treatment, Leukemia will come back.
Dalton has endured bone marrow biopsies, countless lumbar punctures and long cycles of chemotherapy as part of his planned therapy—with at least three more years of treatment required, under absolutely perfect circumstances, to beat this cancer. Additionally, Dalton has suffered treatment setbacks and delays, including multiple unplanned hospitalizations and blood clots.
Throughout this ordeal, Dalton has maintained an upbeat attitude despite feeling sick, losing hair, losing weight, losing strength and losing his home in Maryland and his school life there.
Dalton’s favorite things in life are playing with his brothers and tinkering with old electronics while listening to music (The Foo Fighters and Lady Gaga are his favorites). He is very excited for the day that he is allowed to dig in the dirt, play in leaves and go swimming again, as his immune system is too weak for those activities now.
Dalton has a long road ahead of him, but he is surrounded by love and a family who will do anything to help him get well again—no matter what. Thank you for keeping him, and our whole family, in your thoughts and prayers.
