Giving to Miranda as much as she's given to us

Miranda Wilson has dealt with a disease for over a decade. Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. When flares happen, it puts her out of commission and unable to work, take care of her family, etc. However, through the years she has continued to do everything in her power to keep doing what she should be doing to take care of everyone else.
She sought out many doctors who dismissed her symptoms as stress. Finally, someone evaluated her appropriately and a diagnosis was made. Many years of medication failures, including biologics through infusion and injections, she kept going trying to smile through the pain.
The last several years have been filled with ER visits, hospitalizations (both near home and Cleveland/Columbus), and a specific medication was finally helping. Then because of life circumstances, job changes, and insurance issues, her injections stopped this previous summer. Miranda become extremely ill, but trying to work from home.
Miranda and her husband are both School Psychologists. Miranda had recently left a school district due to many reasons, but also the commute between schools and the distance to the main office. This was unbearable at times due to the UC, lack of available restrooms, and the stress that was mounting. She received an incredible position working from home as a school psychologist. However, after 2 months, she was admitted to the hospital through the ER with a toxic colon that was 3-4 times the size of a typical colon. Emergency surgery was performed to save her life.
This surgery ended with complications and intense pain. She has suffered agonizing pain, both physically and emotionally. With two young children at home, a husband working full time, and a million other responsibilities, she has continued to keep fighting.
Miranda is now seeing a physician at a different hospital in order to take care of an additional surgery that is needed before she can have the final surgery to reverse the ileostomy. However, none of that can take place until the wound vac that she is attached to is allowed to be removed to she can heal from the emergency surgery. Thankfully home health is able to come 3 times per week in order to assist with the wound vac and its needs.
Miranda has done so much for our community & schools. Cheerleading coach, soccer fundraising, PTA, running an Ohio school psych group, serving on the Ohio School Psych Executive Board, and so many others. She is extremely giving of herself and is having to put her dissertation on hold due to this medical situation. All she is attempting to do is help students who have been through trauma.
If you are able, any donation to help with medical bills that are piling up, as well as being on unpaid leave, would be forever grateful. If you know Miranda, or Mandie as most of us call her, then you know that she is not thrilled with the idea of a page dedicated to her and her family. Why? Because in her words, “there are far more deserving people out there.”
