GIZMOS WORLD TOUR 2015 and new EP
Donation protected
The Gizmos are back! For the first time since 1977, the legendary Indiana proto-punk outfit is playing live. The current lineup includes Kenne Highland, Eddie Flowers, Ted Niemiec , and Rich Coffee from the original 1976 group. Joining them are Craig Bell (original bass player with Rocket From The Tombs!), Kelsey Simpson, and Sam Murphy (these three also play together in the band Deezen). The reunited Gizmos have played shows in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Memphis, Indianapolis, Columbus, Dayton, and their home base of Bloomington, Indiana.
The story of the Gizmos began in early 1976, when the Ramones were still a local New York band and the Sex Pistols weren’t even a rumor in the U.S. This group of teenage fanzine writers, rock cultists, and heavy-metal dudes was ground zero for Indiana punk-rock. The strong influences of the Dictators, the MC5, the Stooges, the Velvet Underground, 60s garage bands, and 50s rockabilly crashed head-on with musicians self-trained on Led Zep, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Santana, and Hendrix. The underground success of their first self-titled EP led to another session in early 1977, which yielded two more EPs: AMERIKA FIRST and GIZMOS WORLD TOUR. The original band split after those sessions in 1977.
Now is your chance to help the Gizmos tour some more and record their first new record since 1977! If you are a Gizmos fan, now is the time to make their dreams a reality.
