Our community has recently lost someone very special. Stephanie Harris was a dedicated wife, friend, daughter, sister and her greatest title, MOM. The month of May brought a sudden diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia for Stephanie, which is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that progressed very rapidly.
Her fight with AML was a sprint and she was courageous until the end. On Sunday May 19th, less than 14 days after diagnoses, Steph left behind her children: Addison (12), Carter (10) and Sadie (9), and her husband Clayton.
Our hearts are broken. Stephanie was a bright light that filled her home and our community with so much love. During the years Stephanie spent in Milestone, she was always volunteering her time with the kids’ hockey teams, figure skating and baseball; she would never say “no” to lending a hand! She was dedicated to her children, logging many miles driving to activities, filling the house with baking, and somehow never skipping a beat she still managed to carve out time for yoga, dance and book club for herself. She always wore a smile and sparked up conversations everywhere she went.
We are reaching out to all those who cared about Stephanie and her family to help us support them during this heartbreaking time. They will be juggling a new normal and preparing for a life without their rock. We would like to ease some of their financial burdens as they navigate this journey. In addition to their immediate needs, we want to help the kids continue to do what they love and what Steph loved watching them do.
Stephanie made an everlasting impact on so many, and she will be greatly missed. Please consider contributing to her legacy.
