It is with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to our gentle giant, Rick Horwitz. Rick passed away suddenly from a heart attack on January 8, 2017, at the young age of 48. The shock and sadness is overwhelming to the community, friends, and especially his beloved sons. Rick will always be remembered as the generous, loving, easygoing, and all around gentle guy he was. Rick devoted his adult life to his sons, Zachary (20) and Jeremy (19). It is with Zach and Jeremy in mind that we are making every effort to ease their financial burden.
We are raising money to help Zach and Jeremy continue their collegiate studies. Both are currently enrolled in the Kelly School of Business Honors Program at Indiana University. Zach is a sophomore and Jeremy is in his freshman year.
As you can imagine, the loss of their father is not only an emotional issue that the boys will need to work thru, but there is the added stress of finances not being provided through their father's financial help and support.
Both Zach and Jeremy are conscientious, motivated students. Seeing them attend school together and graduating was a dream of Rick's. The boys know they will have to pick up a lot of the slack due to this unforeseen tragedy. They are prepared to work part time in school as well as over breaks and the summer to earn money to help support themselves. However, their hard work alone will not be enough to see their dreams become reality. Please consider making a donation to help them reach their dream and their father's.
