Gladiators Go To College 2018

From March 10th-17th, 2018, twenty high-achieving Roma High School sophomores and juniors will travel to Boston to visit top colleges and universities in the Northeast including Harvard, MIT, Brown, Wellesley, Northeastern, Tufts, and Boston University. The purpose of this trip is to expose students to a variety of colleges and universities, as well as inform and assist them in the college search and application process. Students will work closely with mentor teachers to prepare for the trip, research colleges and programs they are interested in, and solidify their college and career goals. Alumni of this trip have attended Tufts, Brown, Columbia, and many other top-tier schools!

Our students are responsible for fundraising the combined cost of airfare, accommodations, food and transportation in the sum of $1,200. Altogether, this amounts to more than $24,000 that we as full-time students and teachers are seeking to fundraise.

We need your help! Our students attend a Title I school where 90% of students qualify as low-income. Fewer than 10% of adults in our county have a college degree and we are one of the poorest counties in the United States.
