Gladys Marcelin-Lachaud Foundation

Growing up as a child with Gladys, we always had an extra bedroom for guests. Someone continuously occupied that room, and she would always help them find a job. Every Summer, Christmas, New Years, and Easter, my sister and I knew she was coming to collect money from us. We never gave it a second thought, but just knew to be ready. After her passing and over two hundred phone calls later, I learned I was not the only one who lost my earth angel on 5/28/20, I had several other people and children shared the same sentiment.
My mother dedicated years and the minimal resources she had to feed, house, and send support to women, men, and orphans in Haiti who had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. In memory of her loving ways, we have decided to start a foundation and convert her home in Hempstead, NY into a shelter. Our goal is to offer those who fall on hard times a “guest” room to stay, a hot meal, and employment assistance. We hope to continue sending the orphans in Haiti clothes for school and toys for Christmas on her behalf. Please help us keep her humanitarian work going and share this link to help secure the necessary funds to start the Gladys Marcelin-Lachaud Foundation.
Thank you.
