Glaisdale Cricket Club Pavilion Project
Glaisdale Cricket Club’s main aim of 2021 is to rebuild the old pavilion.
Our club captain Tom Wardell has decided he is going to run/walk 32 miles along the Esk Valley carrying his cricket gear (weighing 30lb) in his military bergen. The route will include calling at historic cricket clubs from the area. Starting at Whitby then stopping at the following grounds; Sleights, Goathland, Grosmont, Glaisdale, Lealholm, Fryup, Danby, Castleton and finishing at Westerdale. The event will take place on Sunday 13th June 2021 aiming to complete the route as fast as possible. He will be joined during the journey by members of the cricket club for support.
Our cricket club currently provides cricket opportunities for two junior teams (U-15 and U-11), one senior team in the Scarborough Beckett League on a Saturday, two teams in the Esk Valley Evening League, one team in the Feversham League and this year we are establishing a Women’s Cricket team. Our pavilion is in desperate need of a rebuild to provide a stable weather proof facility insuring our cricket development continues for years to come.
