Glaslough Villa Redevelopment Fund Raiser

Glaslough Villa are an amateur football club based in the village of Glaslough, County Monaghan, Ireland.
Founded in 1990 the club like many football teams has had it’s fair share of ups and downs but for 30 years has been involved in football at all age groups and in a number of community activities.
In the spring of 2020 a group of like minded people, all volunteers from different backgrounds but all with a love of football came together to form a new committee to guide the club forward and to commemorate 30 years of Villa host a number of community events. This started well, we had two senior teams ready to compete and a number of underage teams also signed up to local leagues and the number of players was growing. However, like many clubs and business, activities came to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
With no income from football activities and fund raising events effectively cancelled, the following programs had to be temporarily suspended.

Football for All: an FAI led program with the aim of providing opportunities to people with disabilities to play the game.

Soccer Tots: We believe the children are the future, this is a program aimed at children from walking age up to under 8 level, with the aim of teaching kids teamwork respect and that sport should be fun.

Community Family Day: This was a planned event in that if successful would be an annual event. To hold a family fun day and raise funds for a local children’s charity to help give those in need much needed funds at Christmas time. It is the belief of the committee that the club is about more than what happens on the pitch

This is why we are here. We are hoping that you can help us out with a donation, we do appreciate that in these times money can be a challenge for many, so any amount received we will be grateful for.
The funds raised will go straight into a fund to redevelop and refurbish Annagap the home of Glaslough with the view to start the programs mentioned above. This is more about community and providing football to all those who want it, teaching all about respect and teamwork for another 30 years at least. Although, we have been known to celebrate a success or two when it comes our way.

So again, any contribution you can give will be greatly received, even if it is just helping us share this page as far and wide as we can.
