Glendale Christian Lighthouse - Building Fund

Greetings Friends and Neighbors!
This year the Glendale Christian Lighthouse Church is celebrating the churches 130th year of Christian ministry and service to the community of Everett, Massachusetts. Our church was founded as Glendale Baptist Church one year before Everett was incorporated as a city.
The major reason for our fund raiser is that we have an urgent need to upgrade our outdated electrical system in order to maintain the church building insurance.
Other things that need addressing are roof repairs, new exterior doors and window repairs. The plumbing and heating system needs to be upgraded, along with interior and exterior painting.
Throughout the years we have ministered to the spiritual needs of the community and surrounding cities, fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.”
In addition to proclaiming the gospel we have provided food, clothing, furniture, and other necessities to those in need. As Christians we endeavor to follow the words of Jesus who said, “...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
In the summer many of the neighborhood children and parents attend Vacation Bible Club at Glendale Park. Child Evangelism Fellowship ministers to the children through Bible stories and games and snacks are provided.
Every year we participate in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse. Gift-filled shoe boxes are delivered to boys and girls around the world. The past two years we were able to collect 93 boxes for this wonderful work.
This year we participated in a program called “Operation Backpack”, which provides backpacks filled with school supplies for those who are unable to make such purchases. We were happy to contribute 35 backpacks to local students.
Every summer we have a neighborhood BBQ and invite our friends and neighbors in our community to have a time of food and fellowship.
It is our hope and prayer to raise $50,000 to begin the church upgrade.
Help us continue to be the “Lighthouse” in Glendale Square and be able to minister in the community of Everett, Massachusetts for years to come.
