Glenda’s Stroke Recovery

On March 13th 2021, Glenda suffered a devastating stroke, caused by major clots forming over the last few decades unknowingly to everyone. The outcome of which stripped her of purpose, her independence, and much joy. Some know the stroke has severely limited her capabilities in living life to the fullest, however many are not aware of the overwhelming financial burden she & her family are facing, as a result & to their displeasure Glenda & her family need our help. 

 

Glenda has fought tirelessly for the last 6months to adapt to her remaining deficits. Through physical and occupational rehabilitation, she has full strength in her legs & has regained some upper arm control however the lack of function in her right hand persists as well as her inability to form sentences & have a conversation without struggling to form words or being able to communicate as there are some issues with understanding and remembering information and words (aphasia), as her job relies heavily on her being able gather correct information & being able to understand and communicate to keep things running smoothly. With that all being said , it has left her unable to return back to work, for 13+ years this is something she always taken great pride in, that & talking and communicating with those around her or participate in her most loved activities. (Everyone knows she loved to talk lol )

 

Glendas unexpected inability to work, future employment uncertainty, medical bills and added cost to maintain her home & bills have left her and her family facing financial insecurity. Health insurance benefits have came to a end for her and her entire family as she is unable to return to work (where they were all receiving insurance from) physical and occupational therapy came to a halt in July as she is not covered through insurance for at home or local therapies, after her month long hospital / rehab stay & a few weeks after coming home from the hospital absorbed all of her coverage.

 

All money raised through this GoFundMe will help make sure Glenda & her family can remain in their home of 13 years and support Glendas recovery and future independence. Specifically, it will help pay for: physical & occupational therapy, hospital bills, reoccurring doctors bills with her continuous health check ups, medications cost, medically necessary scans & imaging, and even more specifically..bills at home.
