Glenn Andrews Recovery Journey

Donation protected
Hello. I'm Lisa Pittiglio, the niece of Glenn and Linda Andrews. On March 5th, 2023, my Uncle Glenn was woken in the middle of the night to his home on fire. Fortunately, Glenn was able to make it out of the house but not before being severely burned on a large portion of his body. The wonderful paramedics and staff at UP Health System - Marquette were able to get him stable enough to endure his life flight to UofM in Ann Arbor. Glenn is currently being treated at the Burn Trauma Unit at U of M. He is currently on a ventilator and sedated due to the severity of the burns and his damaged lungs. It will take several days to understand the full extent of his injuries. We do know Glenn will have an incredibly long road to recovery ahead of him. As the weeks unfold we will learn what the recovery process will look like.

Glenn and his wife, Linda, moved to Ispheming 25 years ago after retiring from Dearborn Sausage. His love of food and bringing people together didn’t end with retirement he quickly learned. That’s when the idea for Smokehouse Glenn’s was born! For the past 10 years, you could find Glenn, and his famous mustache behind the meat counter at Smokehouse Glenn’s where he was happier than ever to be your local butcher. After hours though, you would find Glenn at the care facility visiting his wife. Three years ago, Linda had a life-changing stroke. Glenn was her primary caretaker until recently. Due to nationwide staffing issues and a lack of resources from the state, Glenn and his 5 children felt it was best to move Linda to a care facility. While it has been financially difficult for the family to do this, Glenn has been making it work because the quality of Linda’s life is paramount to him.

We want to make sure Glenn’s recovery journey is as stress-free as possible, which means him not worrying about how the bills are getting paid. He’s also going to have to rebuild from the ground up, as the fire was a total loss including his beloved pets which he tried to save. Even if it’s just a couple of dollars, they all add up! Let’s rally around Glenn, lift him up in our prayers, and give him our coffee money for the week. Thank you, we will keep this page updated as his progress continues.

Our entire family is extremely grateful for your prayers and donations.
