In Memory of Glenn Boyd

Hello, my name is Meagan, and I am Glenn’s stepdaughter. Glenn meant the world to me, my husband, and our children. As he did to his recovery, go-kart and mechanic communities. We are all in shock and feeling this huge loss together.

On Friday, December 20th, we tragically lost Glenn while he was diving in Mexico. Glenn had a deep love for the country and had been traveling there every December for years. This December he celebrated his “sweet 16” being sober and this trip was his way of celebrating and honouring his sober time.

Given the unexpected nature of his passing and the fact that it occurred abroad, my mother is currently working with local authorities to arrange for Glenn’s remains to be brought home. This is a lengthy process, and she has had to extend her stay in Mexico, making multiple trips between her location and Cancun to coordinate with the police and the Canadian Embassy. This includes ensuring the autopsy is completed, securing the death certificate, and arranging for his cremation so that he can be brought home. She is handling all of this in Mexico alone over the holiday season, as we are unable to be there with her.

In light of this, I’ve asked Kris Misurko to help manage this Go Fund Me and any funds raised to ensure they are used where they are most needed. The funds will help cover expenses such as repatriating Glenn’s remains, his celebration of life, and supporting my mother as we work to settle Glenn’s estate.
