Help Justin Live With Glioblastoma
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is being set up to help our good friend Justin as he lives with grade 4 glioblastoma. This cancer does not go into remission, it is fast-growing and there is no cure. Justin has two kids, Dade (14) and Lana (11). If you know Justin you know he is not one to ask for help.
Justin has been dealing with seizures since 2013 when his tumor was first found.
After a grand mal seizure in May of 2020, Justin had an MRI which showed his tumor had grown. Justin went in for a biopsy of the tumor - due to its size a mini craniotomy was done to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Justin spent a few days in the ICU and learned he has grade 4 glioblastoma. Following surgery, Justin had 6 weeks of radiation followed by daily chemotherapy which he anticipates needing to take for the rest of his life.
Justin experiences effects on his speech and memory as well as headaches and overall feelings of fatigue and soreness. He will have regular MRIs to follow the growth and continue on anti-seizure medications as well as chemo.
Depending on the progression of the tumor it may be recommended that Justin wear an Optune. This would require Justin to wear a backpack at all times to connect the devise to patches on his head in hopes of slowing the growth of the cancer. The out of pocket expense of an Optune is around 5K.

This website explains the Optune but also has excellent information about Glioblastomas.

GoFundMe money raised will go towards the medical bills from the past 1-2 years. In addition, Justin would like to make some good memories with his kids, do fun things, maybe even travel.
Glioblastoma is a wicked cancer and living with a diagnosis like this can be mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting. Justin is an amazing person and friend, he deserves some good karma coming back to him as he's put it out there in the world. Justin has some kick-ass friends and family members, I know it's not in everyone's ability to make a donation but if it is in yours please help in whatever way you can, send Justin some positive vibes and share this site. Financial stress sucks, let's help Justin live it up after paying it off.
