Global Food Fund
Tax deductible
The world is on the brink of one of the most devastating food security crises in generations due to the effects of climate change and COVID-19. The war in Ukraine is exacerbating this crisis, causing global food, fuel, and fertilizer shortages and rising food prices around the world. Ukraine supplies a great deal of the world’s corn, wheat, and sunflower seeds for cooking oil. Russia continues to destroy Ukrainian farmland, warehouses, roads, and equipment. After months of blockading Ukraine's ports, Russia must live up to the commitments it made to allow Ukrainian agricultural goods to reach the world.
Meanwhile, the worst drought in four decades is imperiling lives across the Horn of Africa, a region that is also dependent on Ukrainian exports.
Millions of people - especially those in the most vulnerable countries around the world - are starving and facing a potentially fatal humanitarian crisis. And the problem is only escalating.
GoFundMe.org has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to direct funds to organizations that are helping to address the global food security crisis by providing immediate humanitarian relief to the most vulnerable populations. All donations raised on this fundraiser will be distributed to verified global nonprofit organizations combating the global food security and hunger crisis. Your tax-deductible donation will support organizations responding to food insecurity around the world.
Together, we can support communities impacted by these devastating tragedies. And, as of July 18, 2022, GoFundMe.org has approved support for the following:
- CARE
- International Medical Corps
- International Organization for Migration
- International Rescue Committee
- Oxfam
- Save the Children
- UNICEF USA
- World Food Program USA
We will continue to evaluate these ever-shifting situations and add recipient charities to the list as they are properly vetted to confirm funds can be sent where needed and can reach those on the ground who need support. We will post timely updates when grants have been made.
