Self Funding for Global Peace Summit

Hi Dear, My name is Leah Fouchong  and I'm a youth environmental ambassador from the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. I'm passionate about nature, the environment, people and world peace. I've been selected as one out of one hundred and fifty delegates to attend the Global Peace Summit In Dubai.

Unfortunately, I was accepted for the Self Funding category, which means I will have to cover all cost to be able to attend the peace summit. I'm a resident of Trinidad and Tobago, which means that I live on the opposite side of the world and the cost of the airfare along is quite costly to get to Dubai. I also have to cover, the Visas, PCR test, medical insurance and conference cost.  In total, I would need an approximate 2500US to attend the event. 

Currently, I'm not in a financial situation where I can gather all the funds in such a short space of time. As I only got the acceptance on the 25th January and will need to travel at least by the 19th February 2022. I am sharing my story at this point because I would really love to take up the is opportunity and meet with other young minded world leaders and ambassador for peace. 

According to the UN secretary General, Antonio Guterres, peace is not a naive dream. It is the light in the darkness, guiding us to the only pathway to a better future for humanity.  Being from small island developing state in the Caribbean that is multi enthic and cultural, achieving cohesiveness and inclusivity between the different ethnicities is important. 

The Covid 19, Pandemic has also deepened  the gaps of conflict, inequality and sufferings of billions of people. As such, these Global Peace Summits are important to attend so that we can tackle the issue of World Peace from a global perspective and also share and understand each other's experiences to achieve a better, safer more inclusive world that is sustainable.
