Sparrow Global Solo Challenge funding

JULY 15 NEW FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN AND STRATEGY!

Without a title sponsor and with the start of the race rapidly approaching, I am changing my fundraising strategy to mimic a successful campaign by Bertrand de Broc on 'Votre Nom Autour du Monde'. I am now looking for one thousand individuals or businesses to kick in $100 each. Trying to find $100,000 or more from one sponsor is proving very difficult. As it stands right now, I will not make the start if I don't come up with at least $30k in the next 60 days.

FOR $100 I WILL WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE INSIDE OF SPARROW AND TAKE YOU AROUND THE WORLD WITH ME.

July 15 update - Sparrow is now in the boat yard in Portland, Maine after the successful completion of our 2,000 mile qualication sail from Maryland to Maine via Bermdua! While in the boat yard we are underatking the following: vinyl wrap, bottom job, new standing rigging, new autopilot computer, new Lithium batteries, new alternator(s), new running rigging, deck hardware updates, more safety gear, taking on the final two sails from Elvstrøm Sails, and a whole lot more! There will be a lot more work being done in Spain as well. It is a huge undertaking, but Sparrow is really coming together.

This trailer is for an upcoming film 'Sparrow' be made about the campaign and about my race, while also telling my story and the story of US Patriot Sailing. This film is intended to end up on a major streaming platform, and help add value and exposure for a title sponsor.

As well as preparing the boat and pulling together funding and sponsors, we have been engaging with the community as much as possible. Along our journey we have been taking out school groups, veterans, first responders, donors and the homies. Sparrow is the people's boat and we are proud to share it with as many folks as possible. While in the Chesapeake (Spring 2023) we took part in the Spring Boat Show, a safety at sea course, sailing with Veterans from US Patriot Sailing, andeven took the boat up to Baltimore to engage with youth at the Downtown Sailing Center.
