Wetlands are the unsung heroes of our planet.

Our goal is to protect the planet, and we consider the most significant potential in restoring wetlands worldwide. To actively support global projects, we are using our scientific and marketing network and enable climate activists and environmentalists to support the restoration of their local wetlands.

They store more carbon than any other ecosystem, with peatlands alone storing twice as much as all the world’s forests combined. Additionally, they provide almost all of the world’s consumption of freshwater.

More than one billion people depend on them for a living, and 40% of the world’s species live and breed in wetlands.

While wetlands have superpowers to protect our planet, they are in danger.

More than 85% of the global wetlands have been destroyed for the purpose of farming, forestry, development, or other “productive” uses.

And we are losing them at a very alarming rate: three times faster than we lose our forests.

While scientists are very aware of the untapped potential of our wetlands, most of us consider them stinking and mosquito-inhabiting wastelands.

We call our project Mission to Marsh because while Elon Musk wants to fly to Mars to find water on a remote dead planet, we are convinced that we should rather look for solutions here on Earth.

We dedicated our lives to our non-profit organization and are working closely with renowned partners like Patagonia, Greenpeace, Fridays for Future, True Performance, and many others to protect wetlands around the world.

If you are looking for a nature-based solution to mitigate climate change, protect endangered wildlife, and ensure the future of healthy freshwater, you should consider protecting wetlands with Mission to Marsh.

With our movement, we are organizing activistic events to promote the global restoration and protection of wetlands. One example was our demonstration in July 2022 in Hanover, Germany, with Fridays For Future, Greenpeace, NABU, BUND, and many more to show politicians how important it is to protect local peatlands.

Why do we need donations, and what are we doing with your support?

Wetland restoration projects cost money. Together with GoFundme, we are accumulating budgets to not only talk about restoration but also to act!

We will update this GoFundMe campaign regularly, inform you about successes and specific projects, and of course, release updates on how the funding was used within wetland restoration measures.

Moorschutz ist unsere Mission.

Gemeinsam mit Klimaaktivist:innen und Umweltschützer:innen auf der ganzen Welt nutzen wir unser Wissenschafts- und Marketing-Netzwerk, um Projekte im Bereich Moorschutz umzusetzen.

Denn Moore sind die Klimahelden unseres Planeten. Sie binden doppelt so viel CO2 wie alle Wälder dieses Planetens zusammen. In Deutschland sind allerdings über 95% der Moore zerstört und können dadurch keinen Kohlenstoff mehr aufnehmen.

Obwohl Moore also eine große Bedeutung für den Schutz unseres Planeten haben, sind sie in Gefahr.

Feuchtgebiete wie Moore, Mangroven oder Sümpfe werden zum Zwecke der Land- und Forstwirtschaft, für Siedlungen oder andere "produktive" Nutzungen zerstört.

Doch ungeachtet ihrer Superkräfte, werden sie mit einer alarmierenden Geschwindigkeit zerstört: dreimal schneller als unsere Wälder.

Während Wissenschaftler:innen sich des ungenutzten Potenzials unserer Moore sehr bewusst sind, halten die meisten von uns sie für vermeintlich stinkende und mückenbewohnte Einöden.

Das muss sich ändern.

Wir nennen unser Projekt Mission to Marsh, denn während Elon Musk zum Mars fliegen will, um auf dem fernen roten Planeten Wasser zu finden, sind wir überzeugt davon, dass wir lieber hier auf der Erde nach Lösungen suchen sollten.

Wir haben unser Leben unserer gemeinnützigen Organisation gewidmet und arbeiten eng mit renommierten Partnern wie Patagonia, Greenpeace, Fridays for Future, True Performance und vielen anderen zusammen, um Moore auf der ganzen Welt zu schützen.

Wenn ihr nach einer Lösung sucht, um mit der Kraft der Natur den Klimawandel zu stoppen, und bedrohte Tierarten zu schützen, unterstützt unsere Mission to Marsh.

Moorrenaturierungsprojekte kosten Geld. Zusammen mit GoFundme wollen wir ein Budget generieren, das es uns ermöglicht, nicht nur über die Wiederherstellung zu reden, sondern auch zu handeln!
