Gloria Rivera, transition to Widowhood
Donation protected
This is being written on behalf of Gloria Rivera by her children; Jimmy, Lia, and Jeremy. Gloria is a loving mother and a dedicated wife, and on December 19th, 2022, Gloria's Husband, Jimmy, unexpectedly passed away from cardiac arrest. Gloria and Jimmy were married for 35 wonderful years.
Jimmy was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2008. His diabetes progressed to kidney failure in 2013 and he continued to battle health complications for the rest of his life. Beginning in 2012, Jimmy was no longer able to work due to his deteriorating health and as you can imagine, medical bills from over a decade of treatments can pile high. Gloria took care of Jimmy full-time with unwavering dedication and love. In addition to being his full-time caretaker, she worked hard to support the entire family financially.
In 2015, they moved with their youngest son, Jeremy, from their home in Chicago to Florida to give Jimmy a better quality of life, away from the cold. Jeremy is 18 and is set to begin college in January 2023. It is with a heavy heart that Gloria will be moving Jeremy into his first apartment away from home without Jimmy.
For so many years, and without complaint, Gloria prioritized Jimmy’s health and life over her own. Gloria will need to navigate a new beginning without her partner. A big portion of this funding will go towards Gloria starting life anew, back in Chicago.
This funding is to help relieve the burdens that come with widowhood; navigating a life without her partner/love of her life. Gloria is a woman with unconditional love for her family and friends. She is someone you can rely upon for help. Now she needs our help.
