There is no one way to describe our mother; she was a caring wife, grandmother, sibling, and provider. Though our mother put up a tough exterior and was strict with everyone, inside she was one of the most caring people we knew. In her lifetime, she managed to touch the lives of many. Through tough love, our mother pushed us to be the best we could be and never let us settle for less. She worked tirelessly her entire life to ensure we were provided for, had food in our stomachs, and had a place to call home. Regardless of how old we were, she would always be there for us when we were sick with food and medicine. Though eventually, the long work hours forced her into early retirement due to injuries, that did not stop her from helping others. Not only did she continue to help us, but she also insisted on providing 24/7 care to her disabled sister, a responsibility she continued until the very end. Her last act before ending up in the hospital was driving her sister to the emergency room. My mother's family was her pride, and she never settled for being anything less than helpful to us all. Unfortunately, on February 26th, 2021, after a long battle with various terminal illnesses and heart problems, our mother passed away.
Due to COVID-19 hospital guidelines, my family could not be together with our mother during her final moments like she always wanted. To clear some of our regrets, my family wishes to have an open-casket viewing to personally tell our mother our final goodbyes. However, COVID-19 funeral guidelines limit the number of family members in the funeral home to 25. To allow our mother's closes friends and extended family an opportunity to see her off safely, we also want to have a graveside service. My mother taught us alot, and we owe her much for all she did and helping us become the people we are today.
Along with honoring her death, we want to celebrate our mother's life by giving her the most comfortable funeral we can. We love our mother, and her passing has left us with a heartache that we cannot possibly put into words. We ask you reading to please consider donating any amount you can. All donations will go directly to paying for our mother's funeral costs: embalming, casket, tombstone, decorations, and the viewing and gravesite ceremony. Any support you can provide will help give our family peace of mind and our mother a much-deserved, comfortable chance at rest.
