This is the official fundraising page for Shelly Glover's legal defense for the court case against the PC Party of Manitoba for the Leadership Election held on October 30th, 2021.

Since Oct. 30th when the results of the PC Party of Manitoba Leadership Election were announced, I have been embroiled in pursuing justice in the Manitoba Court of Queen’s Bench.

Although there were many, many unusual, irregular and concerning things that happened during the whole Election such as Members not receiving ballots and not being given an opportunity to vote, it is what happened on Oct. 30th that is now before the courts in an expedited manner because all Members and Manitobans need to know that the results were inaccurate.

The vote count was not conducted following time-tested procedures used to ensure an open, independent and scrutinized count without outside influence took place.

The following is what allegedly happened according to things I saw and was told by people I believe were being truthful.

I AM FIGHTING FOR DEMOCRACY AND MEMBERS' RIGHTS!!!

REMEMBER THAT WE ARE IN COURT AND NONE OF THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN PROVEN YET HOWEVER I DO VERILY BELIEVE THAT THEY OCCURRED AS DESCRIBED

Oct. 29th: My campaign leadership asked for an email confirmation identifying the total number of ballots to be counted which is always standard practice after voting for the Election closes.

We received a spreadsheet at 12:27 am indicating that 16,045 ballots would be counted.

As a result, I needed 8,023 votes to win.

In the locked counting room, scrutineers and volunteers counted all ballots and I obtained the highest number of votes. The Party refused to sign off on the count in that room and removed the ballot boxes unsealed to a waiting vehicle.

Our Team scrutineers were very happy and the other Team’s were disappointed in the result which showed that I received the most votes. And had won the Election.

Scrutineers were locked in that room and watched the announcement of the results via a tv in the room and were shocked at the announcement.

When Tom Wiebe, the President of the Party announced the results firstly that I had obtained 8,042 votes, I believed and my team believed immediately that I had won based on the total number of ballots to be counted 16,045.

When he then read that Heather had 8,405, my Team was confused since that is 501 more votes than the total number of ballots to be counted.

Our scrutineers still locked in the room, suddenly began shouting that they had announced the wrong winner and the wrong numbers and our scrutineers forced their way out of the locked room to come advise us of the different results obtained inside the count room and those provided by the President.

The other Team’s scrutineers were stumped but began cheering.

I was eager to share this with you because I know how invested each and every one of you was during this campaign. You worked so hard and gave so much so for that I TRULY THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

But please understand that I had to be sure that our case made it to court and as of Nov. 19th, a hearing is now set for Dec. 10th, 2021 and will be aired by CTV news. While I am prepared to stand up for democracy, Members and all Manitobans, this is a unique case that is being watched by everyone across the country.  It will be costly to fight this battle but we owe it to ourselves to ensure democracy and our rights are preserved.

As a result, this Go Fund Me page has been set up and I am once again seeking any help you may be able to provide in order to collect the funds necessary to fight this important battle.  Any amount helps although there are no tax deduction receipts for these kinds of donations. Please consider donating $5, $10, $20, $100, $1000 or more. I know you have given so much already so please don’t feel obligated to donate.

I truly appreciate your support along the way and I hope that the court case will result in a revote so that all 26,000 Members can exercise their right to vote for “A New Leader and Premier-Designate” according to the PC Party’s own announcements during this race.

Sincerely and with love,

Shelly Glover
