Home destroyed by fire

Hello,

I am fundraising on behalf of my little sister, Janie, and her family who have lost their home in a devasting electrical fire.

On the morning of November 8th, my sister stepped out of her home for approximately one hour to pick up her son at school. While she was out, an electrical fire started in her attic and when she returned home her entire house was in flames.

Her nearest fire station was unable to respond and the next closest fire station finally arrived over 45 minutes after the fire started At that point, the entire support structure for the roof was destroyed and anything that was left was further destroyed when firefighters broke through the roof to put out the flames.

Unfortunately for Janie her home had previously sustained hurricane damage and was already on a waiting list to receive assistance to repair her home. Because of the damage, no company would insure her home, and when the fire struck she lost her entire home with no insurance coverage to help her recover.

For this unplanned tragedy to occur so close to the holidays makes this even more heartbreaking.
