In Memory of Mark V.

On December 7, 2014 Melissa V, Andi W. and I will be running the Palm Beach half marathon in memory of Mark Vitagliano. One year ago, we lost an amazing husband, loving father and selfless friend. For each of us whose lives were touched by Mark we have felt the loss each and every day. His infectious smile, HORRIBLE jokes and selflessness will forever be remembered.
Why the decision to run? One word - Jill. Her strength and courageous spirit over this past year has been so inspirational. We wanted to give back to her, to support her in this journey.
We will be raising money to support the Cardigan Trip run by the Ross A. Lurgio Middle School where Mark volunteered for eight years. The trip is held in early October where several hundred 8th grade kids spend three days on Mount Cardigan. Mark along with 80-100 other staff members led team building exercises and educated the kids on the importance of relaying on one another. Camp Cardigan is in its 41st year and we will be raising money to provide equipment for the 2015 year. The school will be monogramming the equpiment with Mark's initals and the name Foxtrot which was the group Mark led.
We thank everyone in advance for your generous donations. Melissa, Andi and I will document our journey before and after. Race day each of us will be asking Mark to push us to that finish line!
