HELP WITH RENT & MOVING EXPENSES

Hello, my name is Beverly Romero and I'm fundraising for myself. I have been dealing with ongoing illness related to the neighbors heavy use of Fentanyl, Heroin, Meth fumes, Marijuana and Cigarette smoke filtering into my apartment, as well as that of vagrants who infiltrate our building and who do drugs and their drug dealings in the hallways and on the staircases.
I've witnessed this behavior in the building and only know what some of these chemical drugs smell like because some of my neighbors who are former homeless, recovered drug addicts themselves have informed me, and confirmed what I'm experiencing in the way of the effects on my health, and they've also witnessed these dealings taking place in the building.
All of these fumes and smoke which has been filtering into my apartment has been making me sick; it has affected my disabilities, one of which is chronic, migraine headaches. As a result of all these toxic fumes filtering into my apartment from the neighbors and vagrants, I have been experiencing tingling in my mouth and fingers, as well as mental disorientation.
Several times I have woken up after having spent the entire previous night being exposed to all these toxic fumes, through no fault of my own, filtering into my apartment through the vents, or what have you, to my head feeling as if it were going to explode. The neighbors and vagrants heavy use of these drugs have been getting worse and worse over the past several months. I have been repeatedly too sick to work or look for work. Nevertheless I am doing everything I can to press on.
Due to illness which has hindered my livelihood; either prevented me from working or looking for more work, I have fallen behind on my finances. Recently, as some of you are aware, I reached out to you, friends, family, and the public, via this, my Go Fund Me page, which I felt was a necessary option to create in order to get help; in an effort to be able to come up with enough money to pay the rent. And Praise God!, you have heeded the call and followed through for me, and I am so grateful. I was able to pay April's rent.
Unfortunately however, since I am still currently unemployed and have applied for General Assistance and am applying for Social Security Disability benefits, I am still in need. I received an eviction notice on Tuesday, April 2nd, via certified mail, which I have disputed.
Also, I've come up on the wait-list for another apartment that I've been waiting on for years, which should be available this May, hence the reason I set my GFME goal at a minimum of $4000, so that I could not only pay April's rent but also so that I can have enough money for the deposit, application fee, and first & last month's rent on the new apartment, as well as moving expenses.
Please keep me in prayer that all will go well for me to get into the new apartment and that my current management company, UNPHC, will not try again to sabotage my efforts, as they did summer 2022, when they lied about me to the potential property manager and I was denied that apartment.
The management, Utah Non Profit Housing Corporation, aka UNPHC, has repeatedly discriminated against me on the basis of my disabilities and my faith, and have attempted to evict me for lease violations I should have never received in the first place. And now they are attempting to evict me for a fourth time by drudging up those fabricated and grossly exaggerated lease violations from the past which have already been addressed by me through the Health Department.
I intend to fight the eviction once again through Utah Legal Services and Utah Antidiscrimination & Labor Division (UALD also handles housing discrimination) for repeated acts of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation against me by UNPHC.
This is a horrible property management company who neither cares for the safety or health of its residents. They have done little to nothing to mitigate the ongoing issues of drug use and drug trafficking throughout the building and I truly believe it is the intent of the management not to respond to the issues of heavy amounts of drug use and drug trafficking throughout the building in an attempt to keep me sick so that I won't be able to work and therefore won't be able to pay the rent.
[Since it is the general consensus that landlords and management companies do not want to address and deal with the concerns of their tenants, they just want to collect their rent as if it were passive income that they don't need to work for.]
Therefore, instead of resolving the real issues and the people who are causing the problems, they try to make me out to be the problem for simply wanting and expecting to live in a clean, safe, and healthy environment in exchange for the amount of rent I shell out every month; apparently, according to the apathetic responses, or lack thereof of a response at all from UNPHC, I seem to be asking too much.
So not only do I have no choice but to fight this current eviction because I do not have any money to pay for moving expenses, I have no choice but to fight back as I cannot have an eviction on my record which would further hinder my chances to get into other housing.
On top of all this, the management not only wants to see me evicted, but they also want to see me homeless. And the reason I know this is because in the summer of 2022 I had once again come up on the wait list with the same management company for the apartment I am trying to get into next month, in May, and my current property management company, UNPHC, lied in their affidavit to the potential new management company I was trying to get in with.
UNPHC told them that I was late on the rent, that I was in a dispute with the neighbors, and one other major lie which escapes my mind at the moment-all of which was untrue. So I was denied that apartment. Therefore, it is evident to me that UNPHC not only wants to evict me from the Piccardy apartments in which I currently reside, but they are also so vindictive that they don't want to see me approved for any other apartment either and are willing to lie about me to accomplish that objective, leaving me out on the streets.
It seems to me that since UNPHC is not only disinterested in the progression of its residents to become better educated and employed by limiting the amount of credit hours one can pursue in school, but also the annual income residents can make, they are systematically trying to keep me from progressing by keeping me busy with having to consistently spend time, money, energy, and effort dealing with their asinine lease violations and eviction notices.
Furthermore, if they really had a leg to stand on as far as these lease violations are concerned then they would have been successful in evicting me by now, but they don't have a leg to stand on; they're just trying to keep me down and make my life miserable. I literally feel as though I am living in a bucket of crabs, that analogy and natural phenomena which you can see in action in a YouTube video, that every time I try to work my way out of this situation and better myself, they drag me back down.
You may be asking yourself, "Why doesn't she just move?". Well as I'm sure you're aware, there is a housing crisis in this country that has been going on for some time; either there is not enough housing, or moreover housing has become so outrageously expensive that one can scarcely afford to keep a roof over their head-hence the reason I have been on the wait-list for other affordable housing and have not been able to move sooner.
Despite my illness, I'm doing everything I possibly can to feel and be well, as well as find better and more employment so that I can be self-reliant and take care of myself and my own living expenses, as I have before. In the meantime, I need help and I implore you to please donate whatever you are comfortably able to give. And please help me to get the word out by sharing my Go Fund Me link with others you know that may also be able to help. Your prayers are also greatly appreciated.
I've reached out to several agencies regarding rental assistances, as well as help with the deposit and first & last months rent for a new apartment but either they do not have any funding or I don't qualify. Therefore as in the immortal words of Scarlet O'Hara, I find myself needing to 'rely on the kindness of strangers'. Please help me with as much monetary funds as you are able. I very much appreciate you and your consideration as I continue to work through the many issues of this toxic living environment and try to find more suitable living arrangements.
Thank you very much and God Bless You!
Sincerely,
Beverly Romero

I would also like to add that although I am not going to post medical records, I was previously on FMLA with a former employer and enrolled with Vocational Rehab which supports my documented medical issues, which is why I have been ill from the drug usage of my neighbors and vagrants, as well as the incessant stomping and pounding on my ceiling from the upstairs neighbors which is why I have made accommodation requests to UNPHC to be moved into the upstairs apartment on at least four occasions when that apartment had become vacant, but instead of complying with my request the management chose to fabricate reasons to try and evict me and have literally ignored all of my accommodation requests.
I have also previously attempted to contact the Health Department to come out and check out the status of the building because vagrants had broken in and saturated our carpets with urine to the point that I could not even go down to the laundry room to do my laundry because of the stench-this was at the height of the pandemic in January 2020, and the management just barely replaced the carpet a few months ago with laminate flooring.
Vagrants have also used the laundry room to do drugs, and take a crap in the wash basin which on a few occasions could be smelled throughout the building all the way to the front door as one would enter the building.
And even though the laundry room is now locked, vagrants continue to break into our building and use our hallways as a toilet, pissing in the alcove near the staircase on the bottom level as if this were the Palace of Versailles with its "Dirty Little Secrets". They've also consistently left bottles of urine lying around to be discarded by someone else, etc.
A few weeks ago, for hours there was a urine soiled adult size diaper lying in the hallway very near my apartment, and a couple days prior to that, once again someone let their dog take a crap in the hallway and feces was everywhere. A lot of the vagrants also have dogs they bring into the building when hanging out or visiting their drug addict friends, such as is the case with my neighbor across the hall from me.
This of 'course is in addition to the broken crack pipe I saw lying next to the passed out user a few weeks ago, needles left on the staircases, and vagrants coming in to visit their drug using and/or drug dealing resident friends and also cooking up whatever drug of choice on the staircase with their burnt foil; heroin, fentanyl, and the like.
