TRAC COVID-19 Relief Fund
Donation protected
DONATION PAGE:
Thousands of people in Southern Arizona have discovered the joys of running, walking, and moving through our beautiful Sonoran Desert home. Through this shared experience, we have created a strong community and deep and lasting friendships. Show up to any race or social run/walk event and you’re likely to see faces you recognize and cherish. Here amongst the saguaros and over many shared miles, we have built a “running” family that endures even the 115 degree summers!
So, at a time when people are suffering from the adverse economic impacts of COVID-19, it is no surprise that many are looking for a way to reach out and help. We started this fund to connect those in our community with the ability and intention to give financially to others who could benefit from a donation. The goal of the fund is to meet the most basic of needs: groceries and necessary personal items (including cleaning and disinfecting supplies).
Our approach is simple; we will ask those interested in receiving a gift to submit a short application detailing their need. Our funding team will then match their request with either a gift card from a grocery (e.g. Safeway, Albertsons, Sprouts) or department store (e.g. Target). Other awards may be made on a case-by-case basis. Gifts will be between $50 to $100 and limited to once-a-month and we will prioritize first-time requests. In the event that funds remain after the COVID-19 need is met, our funding team will donate them to a local Tucson non-profit.
Our initial thought was we would provide a two to three-month relief effort, but as we all know, the aftershocks of this pandemic will be felt for quite some time. With your help, we will be able to help our community for quite some time. We cannot fully express how thankful we are to those in our community willing to step up to support others affected by this pandemic.
We look forward to the moment when it is safe enough to share the miles and smiles again.
