Help Sheridan Kick Cancer’s Butt!

Donation protected
In August of 2022 our kind, funny, beautiful and creative girlfriend, sister, daughter and friend, Sheridan was diagnosed with a very aggressive oral cancer. After a major emergency surgery involving the removal and reconstruction of half her tongue, removal of lymph nodes, skin grafts and blood vessel transplants, months of chemotherapy, radiation, speech therapy, physical and mental therapy, an inability to eat, massive weight loss, tears, and an immense amount of pain, we were finally given an ‘all clear’ in March 2023. Our joy and relief lasted only two weeks, when a CAT scan revealed that the cancer wasn’t gone and just as aggressive.

Sheridan has now been through an even greater surgery requiring the partial removal and reconstruction of her jaw. What makes this even scarier for Sheridan and her family is that chemotherapy and radiation are no longer considered viable treatment options, due to the cancer’s failure to respond the first time around. This surgery has to be successful, to allow us to begin seeking other avenues.

We decided to start a gofundme because another 9 months (at the minimum) of living in and out of the hospital, spending time healing and being unable to work is just financially impossible for Sheridan. In addition to the lack of income, mounting medical bills, and every other day to day, monthly, or annual expenses, Sheridan will need to undergo large amounts of very expensive dental surgery once her new jaw heals.

Sheridan is a character that you would never forget meeting. Her sense of humor and mischievous smile imprint onto anyone she encounters. Her ability to make friends is second to none, and when around her loved ones, it's Sheridan who has everyone in hysterics. We love her so much, and to know that there is going to be so much more pain and uncertainty, away from the people she loves; instead of churning away in the pottery studio, or sharking cocky old guys at the pool hall, or traveling to see family. Simply put, it breaks our heart.

Sheridan has already been through so much and been so strong and positive, always with a smile on her face, with a joke to make, and the most popular patient on the chemo ward or in the ICU! Please help us help Sheridan alleviate her immediate burdens and those she will face in the future, and give this wonderful woman some hope and a return to normalcy. We are eternally grateful. Thank you!
