Hi,
My name is Peniel Simon, the first child of a family of six including parents. I write to seek for funds in order to start an MD program in a Medical University in the Caribbean.
This is my story;
I am a first-class graduate from Babcock University. I obtained my first degree in Human anatomy which is a premed degree. My dream is to continue in the medical field so I can obtain an MD degree. This dream is born out of the strong passion I have for the medical profession and the desire to save lives and make a difference in the world.
I applied to a number of medical schools in August 2019. Thankfully, I got admitted into all of them and I was also awarded partial scholarships. Unfortunately, even after these scholarships, I still could not proceed because of my inability to meet the rest of the fees. As a result, I lost these admissions.
My sole sponsor is my dad. When I got these opportunities, he indicated interest but the financial responsibility of my siblings’ education truncated his ability to help with the financial demands of my educational progress.
I recently got a new opportunity to start my MD journey at Avalon University with a partial scholarship of $20,000. I started with this school in September, 2020 but I could not continue as a result of the same reason I mentioned above. I was given an opportunity to defer my admission till January, 2021 but I still couldn’t join the January class because I had not raised enough funds. The final opportunity is for the May 2021 class, after which if I’m still unable to meet the financial demands, my admission will be withdrawn.
I hope to make this semester so that my dreams can become a reality. I choose to be this vulnerable to individuals who can help not because I feel entitled but because I believe that nothing should stand in the way of you pursuing your dreams, including finances, therefore if seeking financial support from everyone around me is an option, I will go for it wholeheartedly.
I believe in excellence and I am certain that if this financial goal is met, my entire being will be devoted to this course and excellence will be inevitable. I am actively working to see how much I can contribute to this journey but I understand that the financial burden is not something that I can carry alone and that is the reason for making this plea.
