G&O Family Cyclery Employee Support

Donation protected
We are very sad to share that G&O will be closing in the next few weeks. This news came to the staff the first week of January and things are progressing quickly. At this point (1/11) half of the staff has been laid off and the remaining team is working, but there is not a firm closure date yet.

As our customers and community know, the staff at G&O are some of the kindest, hardest working people in the bike industry. Personally, I feel extremely lucky to have had a chance to work with them. And we were all lucky to work at a shop that did its best to keep us employed full time and enabled us to make this job our career. Because of that, losing the shop also means we are losing our livelihood. Some of the team have spent nearly a decade here and all of us planned to stay long-term.

If you'd like to support us while we sort out where we all go next, we are hoping to gather a month's worth of our wages. This will ease the financial uncertainty we are all facing. This money will be distributed to the staff, starting with the folks who were laid off first. This money is not going to the shop itself. I will be dispersing the funds as equitably as possible and as agreed upon by all participating staff.

We know that G&O was a special place and that it meant a lot to a lot of people. We'll miss this community so, so much.

Thank you,
Jenna
