Go Far Go On

Hi, I'm Caleb English—a husband, father, adventurer and ultra runner. This year, I’m taking on one of the toughest challenges of my life: the 250KM Marathon Des Sables, a grueling ultra-marathon through the Sahara Desert. But I’m not just running for myself; I’m running to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Running has been a huge part of my life. It started as a way to stay fit, but it’s become so much more. During the COVID pandemic, I rediscovered my passion for running, inspired by my incredible 65-year-old mother, who continues to compete in races year after year. After a long break, my return to running was anything but easy. I could barely finish 3 kilometres on my first day back. But with hard work, persistence, and the support of my family, I pushed myself further each day, culminating in my first ultra-marathon of 50 kilometres just five months later.

Now, I'm preparing for the Marathon Des Sables, known as one of the most challenging races on the planet. It’s a journey through the heat, vast dunes, and rocky terrain, all while carrying my own gear for a week. But when the going gets tough, I’ll remind myself of the real heroes—the countless individuals battling cancer every single day. Their fight is far more difficult than any race, and it's their courage that pushes me forward.

I’m doing this to show my two young boys that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. But even more importantly, I’m running to make a difference in the lives of those who are fighting unimaginable battles. Every step I take in the Sahara is dedicated to them.

Cancer affects so many of us—our families, our friends, and our communities. That’s why I’m partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society to raise funds that will support life-saving research, treatments, and support for those affected. My goal is to use my journey to inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and to help those who need it most.

Join Me in Making a Difference

I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can provide. Every dollar raised will go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society to help those facing the toughest fight of their lives. Together, let’s go far and keep going—because every step counts.

Thank you for believing in this cause and for helping me make a meaningful impact.
