Go Tracy! 7 Marathons in 7 Days for Domestic Abuse

Tracy Honeyman, aged 60, is making a difference for survivors of domestic abuse by walking 7 marathons in just 7 days!

But that’s not all, she will be walking an additional 1 mile on top of the 26.2 miles (which is the official marathon distance), to represent the extra mile survivors go through to escape, walking 27.2 miles each day in total.

Tracy says “I'm raising money for The Angels Foundation UK to support a cause very close to my heart.

It was during a particularly difficult time I just started walking as a way to get out and away from how I was feeling. I'd walk 10 miles or more just listening to music. Along with some amazing friends that supported me, it was the walking that got me through some very dark times. But I am a survivor now and a strong survivor at that, and I want to do this to show others there is life on the other side.

Whilst working full time I’m building up to do 2 marathons every weekend. I will post updates here, and on Facebook, so people can see the progress I’m making whilst training.

The work The Angels Foundation do for families who have fled abuse is incredible and any donation will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause, which means so much to me.”

Tracys training begins now and will continue over the next few months, ready for the first of the SEVEN MARATHONS, commencing:

Marathon No 1: Sunday 22nd September 2024
Marathon No 2: Monday 23rd September 2024
Marathon No 3: Tuesday 24th September 2024
Marathon No 4: Wednesday 25th September 2024
Marathon No 5: Thursday 26th September 2024
Marathon No 6: Friday 27th September 2024
Marathon No 7: Saturday 28th September 2024 finishing by walking into The Annuals Angels Ball! Tracy said she is going to dance all night too!

The Angels Foundation UK provides immediate assistance to families who have fled domestic abuse.

You would think that the challenges facing families would end once they leave their abuser, but unfortunately, they don’t.

The Angels Foundation UK provide families with furniture, flooring, home comforts and social introductions to the community, through our 'Back to Life' support project.

NOTE: We are registered for GiftAid! As a donor, you do not have to pay any extra to add Gift Aid to your donation. We claim the extra money from the government on your behalf, which means Gift Aid simply increases the amount you are giving without extra effort on your part.
