Stroke Association & Smarden Post Office

What brings GoApe, a rural Post Office, and the Stroke Association together?    Laura does!

Laura is a 66 year old stroke survivor who wants to raise some funds for the Stroke Association and help her isolated rural village of Smarden to keep its Post Office ... so why not GoApe!

Laura's wonderful husband, Joel, took Laura on the Bedgebury GoApe Treetop Challenge for her 66th birthday, and 10th anniversary of the devasting stroke that caused dense left side paralysis. During 8 months of intensive physiotherapy at the Townsville Hospital in Queensland, Laura learnt to walk again, and went back to her job with the World Health Organisation in Manila for another 5 years, before retiring to Smarden in Dec 2015.
Laura loves a challenge, and for this fundraiser she plans to do the 5 GoApe Treetop Challenges that are closest to her village. The first was Bedgebury, and the next ,on 12 August, will be Leeds Castle.
Stay posted for the following three.

By giving some funds on completion of each GoApe Treetop Challenge you will be supporting the wonderful work of the Stroke Association (50%), as well as helping a rural village stay connected (50%).

You can give now for the first completed challenge - perhaps as much as you spend on coffee each week, or on beer or wine - or even more! Click on the link to donate. And don’t forget to check out the short video below!

Many thanks from the Stroke Association and Smarden community.
